Inspired by Frida’s Mexican Cantina, this heart celebrates the vibrant spirit of Mexican culture and the power of gathering around food, art, friendship, and tradition.
The cactus at the center represents resilience—the ability to grow, adapt, and flourish even in challenging environments. The colorful butterflies symbolize transformation, freedom, and the journeys that shape who we become, while the flowers celebrate the beauty, energy, and richness of life. The golden Kintsugi-inspired details honor our scars as part of our story, reminding us that healing can transform what has been broken into something even more meaningful.
Created as part of Community Hearts, an initiative of Gil Project, this artwork connects Frida’s with a larger purpose. A portion of its sale contributes to the Gil Project fund, helping support nonprofit organizations connected to the five territories of The Heart Series: Roots, Voice, Identity, Healing, and Belonging.
