Inspired by Dos Caminos, this heart celebrates the beauty that emerges when different cultures, traditions, flavors, and stories meet along the same journey.
The composition brings together visual references to Latin American and Japanese culture—from tropical flowers, corn, chile, citrus, and Machu Picchu to cherry blossoms, waves, Japanese patterns, and sushi. Rather than separating these worlds, the anatomical heart holds them together, creating a visual dialogue between traditions.
Gold Kintsugi-inspired passages travel across the heart, honoring the idea that connection does not require us to erase our differences. Instead, our individual histories can become part of something new when they meet, exchange, and evolve together.
Created for Community Hearts, an initiative of Gil Project, The Heart of Dos Caminos reflects what happens when food becomes a bridge, culture becomes a conversation, and a shared table becomes a place of belonging.
