When the Days Feel Clouded

There are days in life when everything feels a little unclear.

Days when the mind is full of questions.
Days when the heart feels heavy.
Days when the path ahead seems covered by a quiet fog.

Most of us experience those moments, but very few of us talk about them.

Perhaps because we live in a world that celebrates sunny days. A world that encourages us to show strength, certainty, productivity, and success. A world that quietly suggests that clarity is always the goal.

But the truth is something much more human.

Not every day is clear.

Not every day is easy.

And not every day feels like progress.

Sometimes life moves through seasons that feel cloudy.

The Fear of Admitting We Feel Lost

Many times we are afraid to admit when we feel uncertain.

We hesitate to say that we are confused, tired, or going through a process we do not fully understand. We worry that others might see those moments as weakness.

But in reality, those moments are often where the deepest transformations begin.

Growth rarely happens in perfectly sunny weather.

More often, it begins in quiet internal spaces where something inside us is shifting.

Where old ideas begin to dissolve.

Where new ways of seeing ourselves begin to emerge.

Those moments may feel uncomfortable, but they are often necessary.

Because transformation is rarely immediate.

Sometimes it takes years.

The Process No One Sees

When I look back at my childhood, I remember that during many of my “cloudy days,” people often felt sorry for me.

They saw someone struggling.

Someone searching.

Someone who did not always seem to fit easily into the world around him.

What many people did not see was that something deeper was happening.

Those moments were not failures.

They were a process.

A process of transformation.

A process in which life itself was slowly preparing me for something I did not yet understand.

Looking back now, I can see that those cloudy seasons were quietly shaping who I would become.

They were building resilience.

They were opening the door to creativity.

They were teaching me to listen to the deeper voice within the heart.

Learning to Recognize the Process

Today, my internal work feels different.

The struggle is no longer about surviving those cloudy moments.

It is about recognizing them.

Learning to embrace them.

Understanding that uncertainty does not always mean something is wrong.

Sometimes it means something inside us is evolving.

Sometimes the fog is simply part of the journey.

In my artistic work—especially in The Heart Series—I have been exploring this idea more deeply.

The human heart carries many seasons.

Moments of clarity.

Moments of doubt.

Moments of pain.

Moments of healing.

And all of them are part of the same story.

Perhaps one of the most important things we can learn as human beings is this:

To honor the process.

To trust that even when the path ahead is not fully visible, something meaningful is still unfolding.

Sharing the Process

One of the reasons I write these reflections is because I believe something deeply human happens when we share our processes with each other.

When we speak honestly about our struggles.

When we allow ourselves to say, “Today feels cloudy.”

When we recognize that we are not alone in these experiences.

Because the truth is simple:

Every human being, at some point, walks through cloudy days.

And often, those days carry the quiet seeds of transformation.

Gratitude

Before finishing this reflection, I want to thank all of you who have continued to send messages, prayers, and encouragement for my nephew Kevin during his recovery.

Your support has meant more than words can express.

Seeing the generosity, kindness, and solidarity of so many people has been a powerful reminder that even during cloudy moments, light is always present somewhere around us.

Upcoming Fundraiser

On March 29, we will be organizing a fundraising event for Kevin at Mezcal Charlotte.

If you would like more information or would like to participate, please feel free to send me a message.

Your presence and support would mean a great deal to our family.

Dedication

This reflection is dedicated to all those who today feel surrounded by clouds.

To those who feel uncertain.

To those who are quietly searching for clarity.

And also to NAMI Charlotte, an organization doing extraordinary work supporting mental health in our community.

NAMI Charlotte’s mission is to provide support, education, and advocacy for individuals and families affected by mental health conditions, working to ensure that no one faces these challenges alone.

Their work reminds us of something essential:

Talking about mental health is not weakness.

It is courage.

And healing often begins when we allow ourselves to speak about what we are going through.

If today feels cloudy for you, remember this:

The fog does not erase the path.

It simply asks us to walk with patience.

Because sometimes the most important transformations in life happen on days when we cannot yet see the whole horizon.

With gratitude,

Y esos procesos muchas veces toman años.

En mi trabajo artístico, especialmente en The Heart Series, he comenzado a entender algo profundamente humano:

Edwin Gil
