Dear Visitor:

As a Colombian immigrant, I have heard many stories and seen the many faces of the people who live far from their land. Their expressions are always full of nostalgia, but the reasons why
they are living away from home can be varied.

As a Colombian, I've seen that the cold war has affected many interests, and perhaps in a manner unwarranted, many of us have lost our sense of 'Home'. It is for the reasons that there is a
yearning for their homeland, and at the same time, a sense of not belonging to where they are now, that I would like to introduce a new artistic project called Home Sweet Home.

This project was first completed in Charlotte, North Carolina in 2008, involving 2500 immigrants of varying cultures. Handprints of the 2500 were collected and incorporated into a mural of the American flag demonstrating their incorporation into the building of the United States of America.

My new proposal is to work with the Colombian residents of U.S. and European cities, along with a group of people belonging to the program, “Peace
and Reconciliation” in Colombia. Together we would paint the Columbian flag as symbol of those who are beginning the process of “peace and reconciliation” in Colombia, our beloved land.

Please give me your support in achieving this goal of bringing a message through this artistic proposal. The arts literally saved my life, together we can save others and bring a message of peace.
